NEW YEAR'S EVE SURPRISES

Yesterday, my daughter Ali, packed up her car and drove up north to San Francisco. She is starting her junior year at San Francisco State. This is not the first time she has left the nest, but it seems she has grown up a bit, and kept referring to San Francisco as her new home. She called last night and said she was looking at the lights of the Golden Gate Bridge, and was excited to be in a new city, starting a new year. She is a good kid, and I hope it is filled with new adventures and infinite possibilities.

My husband and I went to one of our favorite italian restaurants for dinner, not even a mile from our house. Who was sitting at the table across from us????? Greg Brady, as in The Brady Bunch, otherwise known as Barry Williams. We kept staring and saying to each other is that who I think it is. We were eavesdropping on their conversation and we heard the woman who was with him call him Barry. There was an adorable little boy also sitting with them. His name is Brandon. How do I know that? We came home and immediately my husband looked up his bio on the internet and he has a 5 year old son named Brandon. My husband said don't you dare stop and say Hi to him. I wouldn't think of it, but if it were George Clooney or Brad Pitt or Tom Selleck....that's another story!

Everyday is filled with surprises....unexpected moments, and possibilities.

I hope 2009 brings all of you surprises, special moments and endless possibilities.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year...
Just stumbled across your fun blog... Love the photos and ideas...
The Cucina.. intrigued me.. as my husband is Italian and is an absolutely fabulous cook...
Then I saw Leucadia and I thought .... WHERE is that.... figured it must be south of SF since your daughter traveled north to go back to school.
Then I read further.... My daughter, Francesca, lives in San Diego. Beautiful city. It used to be not too bad a drive from LA many years ago... now... ugh... urban sprawl has slowed the traffic and lenghtened the trip.
Oh well... It's still a beautiful place to go.
Happy 2009!

Hi Linda Lou!

Happy 2009! Glad to have met you this year through our blogs!

Your daughter is a beautiful girl. I wish her much luck and happiness in her new semester at SF State. I visited SF once and loved that city.

Barry Williams --huh? I wonder what he does for a living now? The girl who played Marcia Brady came out with such a expose about that show and her life after it this year

Hugs, Pat

I'm not sure I'd have gone over, but my brother TOTALLY would have. Last year, his Christmas card was his photo with Greg Brady, this year it was a photo with Marcia Brady. For real. We're hooked on the 70s like that. :-)

Happy, happy new year Linda Lou! I am so happy to have met you and your blog this year. And by the way...your daughter is simply gorgeous! I am wishing her the best of luck at school. I know how exciting that is...and kind of miss it myself!

hugs from the shore house,
Laura

Hello Linda Lou!
Thanks for taking time to stop by my blog and leave such a sweet comment! I haven't had the pleasure of reading any other SBB's works but I do enjoy Simple Abundance. I will have to look for her others and check them out. You have an interesting blog too, and we share lots of common interests. I'm so thankful to have had this chance to "meet" you *smiles* Wishing you a wonderfully blessed New Year!
